The Mago® Plus Automated EIA Analyzer was designed and developed to be a fully automated, integrated ELISA system. Together, with our own immunosimplicity® reagents, the Mago® Plus is the flexible, integrated solution to today's high-performance laboratory demands. Diamedix is the ONLY company that routinely submits product data generated by manual methods as well as automated results from the Mago® Plus to the FDA through the 510(k) review process.
Mago® Plus is capable of performing up to 9 assays simultaneously, in either random access or batch testing mode. It can process up to 120 patient specimens and report up to 384 results using four 96-well immunoassay plates within a single run. The Mago® Plus and its customized software not only perform calculation and analysis of results, but also allow test selection and sample identification, all while controlling the pre-programmed, timed automated pipetting, diluting, dispensing, and washing steps. With the Mago® Plus' internal probe-cleaning mechanism, the wash process is streamlined to maximize washing efficiency. Each well within a strip is washed multiple times employing a unique, 8-channel manifold that moves back and forth into multiple distinct areas of the well during each aspiration, thus maximizing washing effectiveness. Synchronous timing and tracking of each step ensures consistency throughout the run.
The CDC has classified the Mago® Plus as "moderately complex" - it is easy to use, graphically illustrating each step of the test procedure from sample selection to the printing of sample results. It performs a variety of data reduction functions depending on the assays being performed. The Mago® Plus' on-board microplate reader allows true "walkaway" capability. Patient information and results can be downloaded to a host computer through an RS232 port. A bar-code reader for quick sample identification and printer are also supplied as part of the Mago® Plus System.
